Intern Class of 2010/2011
Program Overview
The YQL Internship is designed to cultivate and develop the leadership potential in young adults while preparing them to impact today’s world for Christ. The scope of the program is extensive and includes weekly instruction, practical hands-on experience, and life-transforming events. All are designed to give each a balanced, strategic approach to Godly character and lasting leadership skills.
Requirements
YQL interns are young adults who have finished high school and have a strong desire to develop their leadership ability while growing closer to God and finding His vision for their lives. Each week interns meet to discuss the show, hear leadership teachings, and be a part of an accountability group (typically a Tuesday afternoon). In addition, they attend the weekly Sunday YQL practice, a monthly Thursday dress rehearsal, and each show, which takes place the first Friday of the month. On a non-show week, an intern should expect to spend about five hours on activities. During a show week, an intern should expect to spend about 13 hours on activities, including Dress Rehearsal and the Show. Each intern is focused on the development of a group of teenagers in a specific ministry area such as dance, technical support, the band, or drama. Interns are required to uphold the standards specified by YQL leadership in order to be a Godly example to the teams they will be leading. Throughout the year they will also participate in various outreaches, retreats, and team building activities. The internship is a one-year commitment. The graduate internship is available if an intern wants to take their development to another level after their first year as an intern. A monthly fee of $25.00 (for 12 months) is collected to cover the cost of books, course material and supplies. This may also be a one time payment of $300.00.
