MISSION
YouthQuake Live: The Musical exists to challenge the young Christians of this generation, through entertainment, to live an exemplary life by putting God first and to boldly share their faith with their peers.
STORY
Jacksonville based volunteer teen ministry YouthQuake Live has created the Christian alternative to Disney’s “High School Musical.”Because of the worldwide popularity of High School Musical, YouthQuake decided to pursue the Christian answer to the Disney phenomenon.
For the 2009 YQL Season Finale, the team put together an entire musical, complete with an original story, original music and original choreography. God moved, people were saved, lives were changed that night and YQL: The Musical began to take on a life of it's own.
There has been growing interest in the musical from within the Christian Entertainment hub of the world, Nashville, TN. We believe that God is not finished with the musical and is going to use it to continue to spread the message of the gospel to this generation.
Then in 2010 YQL decided to do the musical again this time it introduced YQL to the community and demonstrated live on stage what it accomplishes in the lives of young people. It was an inaugural event that benefited 2 local families with children with severe medical complications. Joshua Frase is a 15 year old that has been living with Myotubular Myopathy, a severe muscle disorder, his entire life. Riley Turner is 2 years old and is still un-diagnosed. She is in and out of the hospital about every month. Both are living, breathing miracle children.
Our goal was two-fold. First, we wanted to be able to bless these families. Second was to professionally capture the musical in HD for future fundraising opportunities benefiting YouthQuake Live.
